DayCast

Your day, captured.

Your notes, tasks, journal and spending — read from your own iCloud and decrypted right here in the browser. Apple only ever holds ciphertext.

  1. Get DayCast on iPhone, iPad or Mac
  2. In the app, turn on sync and set a web passphrase
Settings → Sync → Sync Across Devices on, then Settings → Web & Email → Set Web Passphrase.
  3. Sign in here with the same Apple Account
Then enter the passphrase. The key is unwrapped in this tab and never leaves it.
  4. How it works, step by step
Why this is safe
  • No DayCast server, no DayCast account. You sign in with Apple; there is nothing of yours for us to hold.
  • Your data lives in your own iCloud. This page reads the same private database your devices sync through.
  • Encrypted before it ever syncs. Each device seals your notes, tasks, journal and spending; Apple only stores ciphertext.
  • The web passphrase wraps the key. Unwrapping happens in this browser. The key stays in memory for this tab — or, if you choose Remember, in this browser's own non-extractable key store. It is never sent anywhere.
  • A static page, nothing more. Served from Cloudflare Pages with zero analytics and zero trackers. The only network calls are to iCloud.
  • New captures are sealed to your phone. Anything you add here is encrypted to your phone's public key, so even the inbox relay cannot read it.
  • Locks itself. After 15 minutes idle, or 5 minutes in a hidden tab, the key is dropped and you unlock again.
  • Forgot the passphrase? Set a new one in DayCast → Settings → Web & Email. Nothing is lost: the app still has the key.
